Adaptation Program for New Immigrants
Objectives:
To provide newcomers with comprehensive range of services promoting awareness, self-sufficiency, independence, including provision of special services to high need groups within our community: single mothers, refugees, elderly people, homeless, youths, disable people and so contribute to the social development of our community.
Type of Cases:
- Employment: résumés, covering letters, interviews, documentation
- Unemployment: Employment Insurance, applications, reports, advocacy and referrals.
- Immigration: documentation, information and referrals
- Housing
- English as second language, information and referrals.
- Education: continuing studies. Information and referrals.
- Health
- Income security and pensions
- Canadian citizenship
Responsibilities:
- Our services are free of charge
- Complex and varied cases require previous appointments
- It is compulsory to present Immigration papers to receive counseling.
- Confidentiality is guaranteed.
- To use the facilities of the programs such as computer public station, Internet services, telephone, copiers, etc. It is necessary to contact the reception or the counselors.
