Mission and Objectives of the Centre

The Centre for Spanish-Speaking Peoples serves new immigrants from 22 Spanish - speaking countries and members of other communities.

We serve their needs by offering a variety of services designed to overcome barriers based on language, race, age, sex and sexual orientation.

The Centre promotes equality and social justice through community development and participation in and representation of the whole community.

WHY SUPPORT THE CENTRE

The Hispanic community is one of the most diverse and dynamic in Toronto. It is also a vulnerable community with many unmet needs.

Our personnel includes dedicated volunteers and highly experienced counselling staff.

We work with organizations and individuals who share our mission: to meet the needs of the community by eliminating physical, language, sex, race, age and sexual orientation barriers.

The Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization founded in 1973. The Centre is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are elected by our membership each year.

Our funding comes from United Way, donations from individuals, foundations and companies and from agencies of governments at all levels - federal, provincial and municipal.
